Upon arrival in Loen, you will have approximately 2.5 hours of free time to explore independently before returning to Nordfjordeid.

For experienced cyclists with sufficient time, the route continues towards Kjenndalsbreen Glacier, where you can admire the impressive glacier landscape and visit the charming Kjenndalsstova café.

Kayaking on the Turquoise Lovatnet Lake

Loen Active offers kayak rentals, allowing you to paddle across the spectacular turquoise glacial lake, surrounded by steep mountains, waterfalls and magnificent natural scenery.

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Norwegian fjords from a completely different perspective.

Kayak rentals must be arranged separately and are subject to availability, weather conditions and sufficient time.

Hike to the Beautiful Raksetra Mountain Farm

For those who enjoy hiking, Raksetra is one of the area’s most beautiful destinations.

This traditional mountain farm is famous for its picturesque wooden cabins, lush green surroundings and spectacular views overlooking Nordfjord.

The hike takes you through beautiful Norwegian mountain scenery and rewards you with fantastic photography opportunities.

Please note: Raksetra requires transportation to the trailhead and a mountain hike. It is generally not suitable for the standard 2.5-hour stop in Loen.

Experience one of Norway’s most famous attractions! The Loen Skylift takes you from the fjord to the summit of Mount Hoven, 1,011 metres above sea level, in just five minutes.

At the top, enjoy panoramic views of the fjords, mountains and glaciers, explore scenic walking trails or relax with a meal at Hoven Restaurant.

Please note: Loen Skylift tickets are not included in the shuttle bus price and can be purchased directly at the ticket office in Loen. Long queues may occur on busy cruise ship days.
